Knight- Slone
Tina Denise Slone of Hertford, and David Keith Knight of Elizabeth City, were united in marriage on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at New Hope Assembly of God in Hertford. The Rev. Dolly Jernigan performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Larry and Susan Slone of Hertford. She is the granddaughter of the late Clinton and Anna Marie Pullen Hall and the great-granddaughter of the late Frank and Susan Nida Pullen, all of West Hamlin, W.Va. She is also the granddaughter of the late Denzel and Belva Slone of Huntington, W.Va. and the late Mildred Dailey Pullen of West Hamlin, W.Va.
The groom is the son of David and Gloria Knight of Elizabeth City. He is the grandson of Jaine and Lloyd Reynolds of Chesapeake, Va. and the late Billy Knight of Lenior. He is also the grandson of the late James A. and Alice Lane of Hertford.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a white strapless formal gown with a beaded sweetheart neckline by Alfred Angelo with beaded lace chiffon side drape with satin split front covered in pearls and a corset back over lace, pearls and tallie flowing into a chapel train. The bride wore a two-tier fingertip veil over a beaded crystal tiara. She carried a cascade bouquet of lavender roses, picasso calla lilies, dark purple stephanotis with trailing greenery.
Miss Stacey Renee Slone, sister of the bride, of Hertford, served as maid of honor.
Mrs. Kelli Slone DeJesus, sister of the bride, of Elizabeth City, served as matron of honor.
The bridesmaids were Mrs. Amy Strunk, friend of the bride, of Elizabeth City; Mrs. Stacy Evans, friend of the bride, of Ahoskie; Mrs. Ashley Portales, friend of the bride, of Williamsburg, Va.; and Mrs. Heather Sharma, friend of the bride, of Williamsburg, Va.
Miss Shelby Craft, friend of the bride, of Goldsboro, was flower girl.
The maid of honor wore a purple, strapless, sweetheart neckline, floor-length satin gown by Alfred Angelo. She carried a nosegay bouquet with lavender roses, purple carnations, white mini calla lilies, and dark purple lisanthus.
The matron of honor wore a purple spaghetti strap, floor-length satin gown by Alfred Angelo. She carried a nosegay bouquet with lavender roses, purple carnations, white mini calla lilies, and dark purple lisanthus.
The bridesmaids each wore a purple halter floor-length satin gown by Alfred Angelo. They each carried a nosegay bouquet with white roses, lavender alstroemerius, and dark purple lisanthus.
Robert N. Carter, best friend of the groom, of Hertford, served as best man.
The groomsmen were Zachary Slone, nephew of the bride, of Elizabeth City; Michael Wasson, cousin of the bride, of Hertford; David Strunk, friend of the groom, of Elizabeth City; Billy Jones, cousin of the groom, of Chesapeake, Va.; and Braeden Jones, cousin of the groom, of Chesapeake, Va.
The ring bearer was Nicholas Hooker, friend of the bride, of Williamsburg, Va.
A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, followed the wedding at The Pines Country Club in Elizabeth City, with a sit down dinner. Music/Entertainment was provided by DJ Jerry Newell with Taz Productions of Elizabeth City, for the reception.
The mistress of ceremony was Mrs. Terry Gregory, friend of the bride, of Elizabeth City.
The program attendant was Miss Selena Hooker, friend of the bride, of Williamsburg, Va.
The wedding music was provided by soloist, Miss Amanda Craft, friend of the bride of Goldsboro; soloist/guitarist, Zachary Slone, nephew of the bride, of Elizabeth City; and pianist, Carl Wayne Greene, friend of the bride, of Hobbsville.

The bride is a graduate of Northeastern High School and a Cum Laude graduate of Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City. She is currently employed by Pasquotank County.
The groom is a graduate of Northeastern High School. He was formerly employed with the State of North Carolina.
The couple honeymooned on a cruise to the Bahamas.
