Amy Elizabeth Neal and Michael Rallis, both of Blanch, were united in marriage on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at Belmont Estate in Reidsville.
The bride is the daughter of Buck and Elizabeth Anne Petty of Forest City and Pat and Mary Neal of New Bern. She is the granddaughter of Doug Fowlkes of Blanch, the late Anne Davis Fowlkes of Blanch, the late James Myrick Neal of Fort Worth Texas, and the late Margaret Neal Snell of Donna Texas.
The groom is the son of Savvas and Irene Rallis of Elizabeth City. He is the grandson of Maria Geleki of Bridgeport, Conn., Dina Rallis of Greece and the late Michael Rallis of Greece.
The bride was escorted by her father, Pat Neal, and given in marriage by her parents.
The bride wore a champagne tinted satin gown with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice top was enhanced with ivory embroidered lace flowers encrusted with bugle beads and seed pearls. The corseted back flowed into a semi-cathedral train with covered satin buttons extending the length of the train. The veil was an ivory fingertip length, edged with lace and scattered pearls. She carried a lace handkerchief that her grandmother, the late Anne Davis Fowlkes, carried on her wedding day. She also carried a hand-tied rose bouquet in varying shades of pink and ivory with a photo of her grandmother, the late Anne Davis Fowlkes, tucked inside.
Ginny Brann Dew, friend of the bride, of Leasburg served as the matron of honor.
The bridesmaids were Emily Fowlkes, cousin of the bride, of Blanch; Staci Parks Collie, cousin-in-law of the bride, of Yanceyville; Lauren Hearp, friend of the couple, of Dry Fork, Va.
The brides attendants wore floor length gowns of hot pink sheered ruched chiffon one shoulder bodice with ruched midriff and soft A-line skirt. They each carried hand-tied rose bouquets in varying shades of pink.
Kati Jo Fowlkes, cousin of the bride, of Blanch served as the flower girl. She wore a floor length ivory gown of crystal satin with a lace bodice and hot pink shirred crystal satin waistband. She carried a hand-tied rose bouquet in varying shades of pink.
Brian Collie, cousin of the bride, of Yanceyville, served as bestman.
The groomsmen were Savvas Rallis, father of the groom, of Elizabeth City; Ethan Fowlkes, cousin of the bride, of Blanch; and Brian Gammon, friend of the groom, of Blanch.
Davis Fowlkes, cousin of the bride, of Blanch, served as junior usher.
The wedding music was provided by The Piedmont Triad String Quartet.
Staci Parks Collie, cousin-in-law of the bride, of Yanceyville served as soloist.
The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Reverend Mike Hearp.
The bride arrived at the wedding ceremony in a horse drawn white carriage.
The brides two aunts, Janet Collie and Debbie Fowlkes, presided at the guest register.
The bride is a graduate of Northeastern High School, College of The Albemarle and Elizabeth City State University. She is employed by the NC State Employees Credit Union in Roxboro as a Financial Services Officer II.
The groom is a graduate of Northeastern High School and attended College of The Albemarle. He is employed by NC Department of Corrections at Caswell Correction Center as a Correctional Food Service Manager.
The brides mother and step-father, Buck and Elizabeth Anne Petty, hosted the wedding reception and dance at Belmont Estates in Reidsville. The reception area was decorated with miniature white lights and arrangements of fresh flowers in the wedding colors. The guest tables, skirted with ivory floor length linens, were topped with tall vases topped with cascading flower arrangements and wreathed with magnolia leaves. Individual seashell Christmas ornaments, designed and made by the brides mother, were given to each guest as a wedding favor. Music for the reception was provided by Complete Music Service.
Prenuptial parties included a shower for the bride on Aug. 12 hosted by Ginny Dew, matron of honor; a bachelor/bachelorette party given by the bridesmaids and groomsmen over Labor Day weekend at North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a bridesmaid brunch, given by the bride and her mother, Elizabeth Anne Petty, on Sept. 10; a cookout on the evening of Sept. 10 in honor of the couple hosted by the brides grandfather, Doug Fowlkes, and the aunts and uncles of the bride, Frank and Debbie Fowlkes, Janet Collie and George Fowlkes; the employees of the NC State Employees Credit Union in Roxboro held a Mexican themed fiesta shower on Sept. 21 for the bride; on the evening of Sept. 23 Buck and Elizabeth Anne Petty hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner at the Penrose Park Country Club in Reidsville.
The couple, who honeymooned in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, reside in Blanch.
