Even with its faults, Elizabeth City is still a good place to live. We have so many good people trying to make it truly a city of hospitality. There is the Garden Club; there are those who have adopted a city street to keep it clean; the people who help the Boys and Girls Club; the many who work with the Boy and Girl Scouts; and all the church people who try to make this a better world.
True, we have had problems with City Council, but at least they were willing to stick their necks out and try. Not one of us is perfect.
Maybe in our next election, we should all pray for the best candidates to win.
