Like one of your recent letter-writers, most Americans hope that Christianity will take root in the Middle East and supplant Islam.

Well, when Christianity came to the "New World," it was the doom of millions of indigenous peoples who were enslaved if they weren't slaughtered.

After Christians arrived in Australia, the aborigines were just about wiped from the face of the earth.

The "Christianity" that invaded so many countries of the world wasn't the Christianity of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.

It was the fake "Christianity" of arrogance, military power, money-grabbing and condemnation.

When Christians leave the guns, bombs, and Bible-as-weapons home, and begin to exemplify Godlike behaviors like compassion, peace-making, humility, and all-inclusive love, other peoples will welcome and love them.

If we want to make the world better, this is how to do it.
