The churches in Elizabeth City that are opening up their buildings to the homeless deserve our respect and thanks. They are being authentically Christian, for the churches belong to the poor, the homeless and the least among us. What we do for them we do for God, and for ourselves.

So I’d like to thank them again for the priceless work they’re doing. Their work is a blessing, not only for the homeless and poor but for the rest of us as well.
