With respect to a recent letter about the need for fresh air to flow through the Catholic Church or else there may be an American Catholic Church in 50 years, there already is an American Catholic Church. It is called the Episcopal Church. There is one at McMorrine and Church streets in downtown Elizabeth City.

God's word or Man's?
To pass on the wisdom of Cardinal Timothy Dolan, are we to conform to God's word, or try to conform God's word to us? If you don't agree with the teachings of the Catholic church, examine your reasons why, don't simply leave the church. Remember, the church on earth was founded by God through Christ, but has been run by man, and man is fallible. "We adore you, Oh Christ, and we praise you, because by your holy cross You have saved the world!"
