How can any politician look us, the taxpayers, in the eye and tell us that the sequestration is going to be the end of the world as we know it? The cuts, if they occur, will be about 2 percent of the total budget. Didn’t we just get a 2.4 percent tax increase in our Social Security withholding tax? Has our world ended because of that? Hasn’t the fiscal year 2013 budget increased more than 2 percent over fiscal year’s 2012 budget?

Me doth think the politicians do protest too much and both sides are trying to scare us with all the horror tales of what is going to be cut. President Obama saying our firemen, policemen and teachers are going to lose their jobs is just too much. Are not these people’s salaries paid by state and local taxes, not federal funds?
