Some congratulations are in order for your editorial page, published on Monday, Oct. 21. At the top, you offer a column by Holly Koerber which lays out, in calm and clear prose, the basic differences between the conservative and the liberal views of the function of the federal government and its relationship to the individual citizen. She rightly notes that the individual is usually much better off when taking personal responsibility and that government serves the individual much better when that service is much more limited.
