If President Obama is going to push free contraception with the assertion that it makes for good-sense preventive health care, then I must insist that he also provide for free workout facilities such as gyms, spas and running tracks. I’d also like to see him provide for low- or no-cost running shoes and workout apparel. Why should the government discriminate when it comes to preventive health care? Also, why doesn’t the government provide free contraception itself rather than making privately funded organizations pay for it?
