All most everybody on the planet has seen Alberto Corda’s iconic black-and-white photograph of Che Guevara. Che was a revolutionary in the fashion of his hero, Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini, Il Duce. Mussolini was generally pictured in shades of red and black but he was no less the revolutionary as is his modern-day counterpart, Barack Obama, who incidentally is sometimes depicted in the same red and black pose. Like all would be dictators I guess they want to look the part. But regardless of the color it doesn’t change the fact that all three men saw the need to disarm the people before they could seize total control.

A recent letter-writer, myself and millions of other Americans feel compelled to confront Obama and his administration’s attempt to disarm the American people with their incessant attacks on the Second Amendment — the right to own and bear arms. Contrary to what the gun-control crowd says, the Second Amendment contains several parts, one that says the right to bear arms will not to be infringed upon. That simply means the right to own and bear arms cannot be transgressed, violated, encroached or trespassed upon. The Second Amendment is immutable, meaning it can never be changed for anyone or anything just to suit someone’s personal needs.

In your Jan. 22 edition, a letter-writer pointed to many good reasons why the Second Amendment is a “necessary evil,” as some have deemed it. And nothing points out his reasons more than the pictures on the front page of The Daily Advance on Wednesday, Jan. 23 accompanying the story, “Camden seeks 3 in armed heist.” Coupled with that little gem you can add three more good reasons for owning and bearing arms. With a growing crime wave sweeping the area you need to pack heat whenever you go out these days. You never know when you’ll need it.

A well-armed people cannot be enslaved so easily as when they are without weapons and all would-be dictators know it. That’s the main reason for the Second Amendment. If you want an automatic weapon you should be able to have one. And by the way, the so-called “assault weapon” is a term designed by the control nuts to make their case more compelling. Anyway you dice it, the weapon is still only an automatic.
