No one forced to use contraception

5 Comments | Leave a Comment

Isn’t it interesting that Republicans have no problem with insurance companies offering coverage for Viagra for men but are up in arms about insurance coverage for contraceptives for women?

This debate about religious-affiliated organizations being required to pay for insurance plans that offer free birth control to their workers is about women’s health, not religious freedom. There is still “free will” in America. If a woman does not want to use contraceptives she does not have to. She can let her religious convictions be her guide. It’s her health and her choice. Do not take away her right to choose.

POPULATION CONTROL?

Population control is not "health care". Birth control is not "Health CARE". Free birth control is just saying "NO" to sex!
I also believe that my tax dollars should not pay for Viagra! We are in a sad state when we are willing to allow the working class to pay for silly freebies! Common sense is when personal responsibility is used when making choices! Our "choices" have consequences. Our poor choices and the resulting consequences should not be bailed out at other's expense!

Comment to 'Taxpayer'.

I disagree with your comment that, 'birth control not about women's health'. If birth control is not about women's health, what in the name of common sense is it about? Maybe it's about population control, ever thought about that?

It's not just contraception,

It's not just contraception, it also includes the morning after pill (which is abortive) and tubal ligation. All three of these practices are against the teachings of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church should not be required to pay for them.

If your insurance doesn't cover birth control, I think you can get it from Planned Parenthood or the Counth Health Department (free, I think).

CHOICES !

First of all birth control is not about women's health, it is about buying women's votes! If Obamacare was serious about health then blood pressure medication would be required! If 2 people cannot afford birth control, then maybe they shouldn't be having sex!

Baloney!

If a woman wants a insurance benefit of free contraceptives, then she should ponder her options when seeking employment. At that point in time she does have "free will" to make any one of several choices. (1)Don't take a job where the employers insurance plan does not include free contraceptives. (2)Find a job whose insurance plan offers them. (3)If you like the job, then buy your own contraceptives. Very simple, and I am not a Republican.
