Thomas’ apology lesson in humility

0 Comments | Leave a Comment

I just finished reading Cal Thomas’ column in which he humbly apologizes for his comments about MSNBC host Rachel Maddow during last week’s Conservative Political Action Conference. I am so impressed by his thorough apology and his willingness to admit that his comments were inappropriate and hurtful. It takes a strong person so admit they are wrong and an even stronger person to reach a friendly hand across the aisle in this age of radical politics.

Each one of us is entitled to make mistakes, but it is how we deal with our mistakes which shows our strength of character. Thomas’ integrity in this matter has made him a fantastic example of how important it is for us to see each other not for our political opinions, but has human beings. Despite our difference of opinion, we need to remember that we are all Americans who want the best for our country, and the only way we can achieve progress is to work together.

Thomas’ sincere apology and willingness to set aside his ego and do what is right should be a lesson to all of us about how we show respect for ourselves and each other.
