Tractors on roads a way of life

In reference to those complaining about the farm equipment traveling on the roads, please consider the following: You are now living in an agricultural community where farming is a way of life. We apologize if our slow-moving farm equipment and wide loads are an inconvenience to you. It’s just as much a hassle to us farmers to move down the road as it is to deal with people in a hurry to go nowhere. We are only trying to get to our fields to work. So next time you come up on a tractor that seems to inconvenience you, remember that Food Lion and Walmart do not produce your food, farmers like us do!

Thanks Justin-Tractors on the road

Thank for putting it so nice and clear.People have forgotten and taken for granted safe food and American grown food.Your defense of Farm Equipment on the road was well stated.Thank you!Thank you for the job the Americn Farmer does day in and day out.Buy American made.

get em Justin!

i think tractors should be allowed on all roads unless the speed limit is 70mph. I love our farmers as i know many of them. Thanks for your hard work!!

"common sense" - give respect for your local farmers

well first of all if you want to talk bad about farmers that provide your food, at least be proud enough to say your name. tractors are made to go 15-25 mph during transport. i would love to operate a tractor going 45-55mph... thats rediculous that you would even make a comment like that, that is just plain stupid. how would you stop a heavy piece of machinery from 45 to 0... and that we need to ride on the side of the road, that is rediculous also. the ride of a tractor is rough enough as it is, and trying to manuever through crazy drivers and mailboxes with a 20ft piece of machinery is harder than what people think. so say your name so you can come live a life of a farmer for a day and so you will respect the work we do to supply your food..

Common Sense

I think the biggest issue with some of this heavy equipment on the roadways are the lack of common sense. These are vehicles specifically designed for handling open fields and such. When using the roads they should use the shoulders as much as possible, even if only the right side is off road, allowing room for others to safely pass. If thee is not enough room then periodically move to the right and allow people to pass. On some of the narrower roads these hugh vehicles take up both lanes and forces oncoming traffic on the shoulders. It would not be too bad if they could travel at posted or even close to posted speeds, but most can not do mor than 15-20MPH on roads posted for 45-55MPH.

We all have to live together, wouldn't it be nice if more common sense were shown?

Thanks Justin

I expect farm equipment on the roads this time of year. I also appreciate the work you guys do to keep us fed with American food!
