In 2001, Raleigh businessman Dean Debnam founded a new polling firm called Public Policy Polling. Although based in North Carolina, Public Policy quickly developed a national reputation for accuracy. A 2012 study by “The Hill” found that PPP was the most precise of the 28 major polling organizations in predicting the last election cycle. This means that they’re one of the most — if not the most accurate polling firms in the nation. A new poll conducted by them between Sept. 6-9 and released on Sept. 12 reveals that the new Republican North Carolinian empire is beginning to develop cracks.
