Writing a column in a local newspaper in a small town is truly a privilege. It provides an opportunity to voice views about issues that can have profound impacts on the people you share a community with. Hopefully it provokes thought, contemplation, retrospection, accountability and debate about ourselves, governing and the remedies and solutions to issues where we hope to improve.
