We’re sure new N.C. Ferry Division Director Ed Goodwin will do a good job overseeing the nation’s second-largest state-operated ferry service. But even he would be hard-pressed not to acknowledge the significant role politics and connections played in his recent appointment to the $92,029-a-year job.
