The Pirates faced the Creswell Tigers Friday night, Nov. 21 in the second round of the state 1A football playoffs. While the Tigers struck early and took a 20-0 halftime lead, Perquimans owned the second half. But despite the Pirates' tremendous surge to overcome the opponent, they fell three points shy of advancing to the third round — losing 20-18.

The Perquimans County High School Drama Department presented a fall production of the play "Ella Minnow Pea: A Play in Letters" Thursday and Friday night. Based on the novel by Mark Dunn, this adaptation by director Lynwood Winslow and his students takes the audience to the fictional island nation of Nollop, somewhere off the coast of South Carolina.
