Alumni celebrate ECSU Homecoming
Tailgating brings together ‘Champions’

A group of football players and their classmates from the championship teams of more than half a century ago at what is now Elizabeth City State University got together one more time Saturday to remember victories on the field and celebrate friendships that have stood the test of time.

Die-hards like ECSU name as is
Alumni oppose proposed name change

The idea of changing the name of Elizabeth City State University found little support among alumni die-hards tailgating before the school’s annual Homecoming game Saturday.

Elizabeth City State University paid a Charlotte marketing firm nearly $13,000 to design both its new ECSU logo and tagline, “Elevate Higher.

Elizabeth City auto dealer Bruce Biggs will be one of four alumni honored by the East Carolina University Alumni Association during a ceremony tonight in Greenville.

Elizabeth City State football players wandered aimlessly following their game against Bowie State on Saturday.
