HERTFORD — The Edenton baseball team battered Perquimans pitching for 13 hits en route to an 8-3 victory, the second-straight win for the Aces.
Allen Tynch and Jack Downum each went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Two of Downum’s hits were doubles.
Brock Meher drove in two runs with two hits and Zack Kelly and Bryant Warren contributed two hits.
Tynch also pitched four innings of scoreless relief. He allowed just one hit and struck out five.
Pasquotank 2, Camden 1: Work on the mound and at the plate from Bryce Keziah secured a Panthers victory against the Bruins.
A leadoff double in the second inning led to Keziah scoring off a Spencer Ambrose sacrifice grounder. He also struck out four in 6.2 innings pitched.
Jaylen Smith and Cori Barton both recorded a hit for Pasquotank (1-1).
For Camden, Josh Russell went 3-for-3 with a double and the Bruins’ lone run scored, picked up in the seventh off a sacrifice fly by Ethan Winslow. Tucker Rose tallied two hits.
Perquimans 12, Edenton 1: The Lady Pirates (1-1) even their record with a strong outing against the Lady Aces, scoring all of their runs in the first three innings.
Perquimans notched 14 hits as Casey Cartwright went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Haley Cooper 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Danielle Baccus pitched four innings and allowed just one hit while striking out three.
“Danielle really came through for us tonight in the circle and answered some questions for us,” Lady Pirates coach Robert Spruill said. “Pitching has been a big question for us to this point, and Danielle showed us she can get it done.”
Currituck 3, Manteo 0: Haley Hopkins, Alex Skok and Sydnie Phillips tallied a goal each to give the Lady Knights (2-0) a shutout win against Manteo Thursday. Phillips and Marrena Glanville each had an assist to shore up the defensive efforts of goalie Haley Naquin and Marina Pickell, Katie Gorza, Amber Reive and Glanville.
