Miscues are costly to Aces
PLYMOUTH — Edenton head coach Wes Mattera expected Plymouth to attack his defense with the run.
For three quarters, the Aces held the Vikings’ running game in check, but breakaway runs in the fourth quarter helped Plymouth pull away with a 36-21 victory Friday night.
Turnovers were key for the Aces (1-2) as three fumbles led to 14 points.
“We had a chance going in for a score and on fourth down we fumbled the snap,” Mattera said. “The effort is there, it’s just the little things that we are doing wrong to shoot ourselves in the foot.”
