A Friday morning downpour only made a minimal impact in shuffling around postseason games amongst area programs.

Only two teams set to play Friday — Camden softball and Currituck baseball — will instead compete today at home in the second round due to unplayable fields.

The Lady Bruins, Coastal 10 Conference champions, will take on North Duplin at 3 p.m. in the 1A state playoffs.

The Knights, champions of the Northeastern Coastal Conference, face off in Barco against Ayden-Grifton at 7 p.m.

Edenton and Perquimans baseball, Northeastern and Currituck softball and Camden girls soccer all worked in their second round playoff games Friday night.

The Lady Eagles held on to beat North Johnston 3-2 to reach the third round of the 2A state playoffs while Perquimans beat South Creek 7-1 to move on in the 1A playoffs. Both are back in the third round for the second-straight year.

Camden girls soccer went to Tarboro and thrashed the Lady Vikings 7-1.
