Baseball Hitting Camp

Trot Nixon, former right-fielder for the Boston Red Sox, will headline a baseball hitting camp sponsored by the Perquimans County Youth League at the Perquimans Youth League Field located on Center Hill Highway from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The camp is open to kids ages 8-12 and the cost is $50, which includes lunch. Enrollment is limited.

Turkey Shoot

Belvidere-Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Drinking Hole Road, Belvidere, will hold a turkey shoot at 7 p.m., each Saturday in November. The shoot is for turkeys, hams, sausage and more. Only 12-, 20- and 4-10 gauge shotguns allowed. Ammunition will be provided. Refreshments will be available. No alcohol allowed.

Rockfish Tournament

The Conservation Fund is holing its third annual Columbia Rockfish Tournament in Columbia. All proceeds benefit Mary Lou Simmons Toys for Tots. Fishing begins at 7:30 a.m. and all fish must be checked in by 4:30 p.m. The weigh-in will be followed by a free catered BBQ dinner and live music for all participants. Entry fee is $40 per person and the last chance to register will be at the boat ramp the morning of the tournament.

River Road Middle School will hold a mandatory Parent/Athlete Meeting at in the school gym at 5:30 p.m.

Turkey Shoot

There will be a turkey shoot each Friday through Dec. 13 at the American Legion Fairgrounds, 1317 West Queen Street Extension in Edenton. The event begins at 7 p.m.

Youth MMA Registration

Registration for youth submission wrestling (MMA) is ongoing until Nov. 30 for kids ages 8-16. The registration can be done by phone or at the class site, the Tae Kwon Do Institute, located inside the Fitness Warehouse, 216 Mcmorrine St. Classes begin Tuesday, Dec. 1.

ECRD Adult Winter Basketball

The Edenton-Chowan Recreation Department is now taking team sign-ups for Adult Winter Basketball. You can sign-up for Open, Over 30 and Over 40 leagues. The Entry fee is $150 per team plus and additional $20 per out of county player. Each team is to play a referee $25 before the start of each game. The deadline to enter a team is Dec. 4 at 5 p.m.
