EDENTON — It was a game to remember for the John A. Holmes High School varsity football team.
College football is as unpredictable as I can ever remember it being.
That Mack Brown fella knows a thing or two about football and I’m glad he returned to North Carolina.
The John A. Holmes High School football team defeated Pasquotank County 42-6 Friday night at Pasquotank County High School in Elizabeth City.
MURFREESBORO – The Chowan University football team silenced some critics in a 73-7 throttling of Winston-Salem State in CIAA action on Saturday evening to move to 5-0 for the first time since 1980.

The National Football League is back ladies and gentlemen.
The John A. Holmes Aces welcomed Lawrence Academy to Edenton for a non-conference tennis match. The two teams met earlier in the season, but that match was stopped due to lightning.
The Chowan County community finally had a home football game to watch Friday night at John A. Holmes.
The Aces soccer team dominated the Gates County Barons last Tuesday in a non-conference match in Edenton, 4-0.
I have some thoughts after the first official week of college football. None are more important than the need for everyone to calm down.
