Northeastern and John A. Holmes both competed in an indoor track and field meet Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Boo Williams SportsPlex (Va.), hosted by Norfolk Academy.

The Northeastern boys finished in second place out of 12 teams with 89 points, while John A. Holmes finished eighth with eight points.

Josiah Carter placed fifth in the 300-meter dash with a time of 40.46 seconds for the Aces. He placed sixth in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet 3 inches.

On the girls’ side, John A. Holmes placed fourth with 30 points and Northeastern finished seventh with 18 points.

Edenton’s Kayla Williams finished third in the girls’ 300 dash with a time of 49.10 seconds and finished sixth in the 500 dash with 1:35.99.

Sarai Leigh finished third for Edenton in the girls’ triple jump with a distance of 30 feet 11 inches and Arinayzia Skinner also placed third in shot put with 28 feet 3 inches.
