An Elizabeth City man with a previous record of arrests is facing new charges of taking indecent liberties with a minor and statutory sex offense with a minor.
Troy Griffin, 38, whose last known address was the 1400 block of Millpond Road, was arrested Feb. 7 following his indictment by a Pasquotank County grand jury, said Agent Lamont Butts, a spokesman for the Elizabeth City Police Department.
The grand jury indicted Griffin Feb. 3 on five counts of indecent liberties with a minor and five counts of statutory offense with someone aged 13-15, Butts said.
Griffin was released after posting a $25,000 secured bond.
According to Butts, Griffin previously was arrested for larceny by employee in 2011, 2012 and 2014. He also was charged in 2007 with assault on a government official, resisting a public officer, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the sale and delivery of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon.
