LETTER: Open, respective opinion best

I have been away for a while with my letters and comments because the items I have read seem to provoke vile replies from some readers and the fact that letter writers want to say a lot but refuse to place their names with the letters. This tells readers they are not willing to stand behind their words.

This letter is about Christians that have no problem with government and ones faith in sharing the same chamber of government with equal time and space. As a young man we were taught in school that prayer and respect for our country and flag were the most important lesson that we could learn and pass on to our children. We were Boy Scouts, soldiers & policemen. We grew up with the idea of protecting the weak and innocent without question even when we knew they would throw us under the bus when they were through with our protection.

I am a Christian, I believe in God and pray for all people to live a good life. Work hard, raise a family and do the right things. I don’t ask for anything more or less of my family.

The way I see it we are all family, we may not agree on everything but that’s the natural order of things. At the end of the day we are all just humans.

As always I look forward to your replies and greet them with an open mindedness that at least you read my thoughts and have taken time to share them with me and the other readers of the Daily Advance.

Do something good for someone everyday.
