The North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association released the 2019 all-region and all-state boys’ soccer teams.

Players that compete on teams that are members of the association are eligible for selection.

John A. Holmes’ Jake Bass, Jonathan Bermudez, Parker Clayton, Ryan White and Marsel Zidan along with Camden’s Nate Graham, Max Hosfeld, Noah Kelly and Luke Wiseman were selected to the Class 1A public high school region 3 team.

Zidan, a senior, was also selected to the Class 1A public high school all-state team.

He led the Aces with over 30 goals this season.

Manteo’s Carter Calvio, Noah Goetsch, Andrew Hayman, Brandon Gonzalez-Martinez, Yeifer Perez along with Gates’ Trent Hobbs rounded out the region 3 team.

Northeastern’s Simeon Hurdle along with Pasquotank’s Jalen Haist were selected to the association’s Public Class 2A region 3 team.

First Flight’s Gage Bernard, Tanner Bouker, Kyle Keller, Lucas Neiderlander, McCabe Owens, Striker Owens, Rober Peters and Jude Sproul were selected to the 2A team.

Farmville Central and North Johnston also had athletes selected to the 2A region 3 team.

First Flight’s Bernard and Bouker were picked to the Public Class 2A all-state team.


John A. Holmes 51, First Flight 42: The Aces (1-0) secured the non-conference win against the Nighthawks (0-1) at First Flight High School Tuesday.

Emma Richards led First Flight with 14 points with nine rebounds, while Emma Midgett followed with 11 points and four rebounds.
