BUXTON — The Currituck County High School girls’ basketball team lost to Cape Hatteras 39-31 Monday at Cape Hatteras High School.
The non-conference game was the season opener for both teams.
Tyana Peebles and Annabelle O’Donnell led Currituck (0-1) with nine points each.
Ta’Nia Seymore followed with seven points and added a team-high 11 rebounds with seven steals.
O’Donnell posted nine rebounds and nine steals.
Cape Hatteras (1-0) was led offensively by Emma Delmonte and her 14 points, while Hannah Curcio added 10 points in the win.
Eliza Quidley led the Hurricanes with 10 rebounds, while adding six points.
Albemarle School 67, New Life/NEAAAT 27: The Colts (6-2) secured the win at home Monday.
Logan Dunn paced Albemarle School with 18 points with nine steals and five rebounds, Avery Krywanczyk followed with 14 points, three rebounds and three steals, while Donovan Sherlock posted 10 points, two rebounds and a steal in the win.
Luke Gray had a team-high 13 rebounds, while Brandon Jackson had seven steals, five rebounds and eight points.
